Completed Project – New Look Kids 6309

November 12, 2012

Here’s just a quick reveal of a new dress I made for Little Tweedie recently – New Look 6309.  I fell in love with this pattern – the fact that there are three sleeve variations and the peter pan collar really grabbed me, not to mention the option of making a matching coat.  I have a feeling I will make many different versions of this dress!

I used the leftover fabric from my Colette Licorice dress (which Sarah over at Rhinestones and Telephones featured as part of her ‘Licorice Parade’ here), and I used plain green poplin for the lining and contrast, which was originally destined for a Colette Jasmine blouse, but I’ve still not gotten round to that one yet…

The dress was quite easy to make, although attaching the sleeves was a little tricky because they are so teeny tiny, but other than that I have nothing but praise for the pattern.  I made the version with short sleeves of the non-puffed variety, a peter pan collar and a ribbon waist tie.  And without further ado I present the finished object:

This will be a Christmas present for Little Tweedie, so I don’t have any photos of her wearing it yet, but I can’t wait to see how it looks on!

Thanks Sarah! Once I’ve given birth & lost the weight I’ll have to get a photo of us in matching dresses (if only to embarrass her with in later life!).
