Happy Christmas from Thread Carefully!

December 25, 2011

Happy Christmas everyone!

Did you get any sewing related gifts? Tell us – we’re dying to know!
I, for one, got nothing sewing related apart from the Colette Sewing Handbook and two patterns which arrived on Christmas eve (with the added Christmas bonus of not having to pay import tax: Thanks, Royal Mail!) I did want to show you a gift a got a little while ago which probably doesn’t look as amazing in pictures as it is in real life….

My new button box!

This isn’t just any button box. You see that interlocking pattern at the end? It does this:

And gradually does this:

It has loads of different sections for different sizes of buttons, carded buttons and a lidded section at the bottom that goes the whole length.

I love rolling and unrolling this thing, and I show it to everyone I can because it is amazing! If anyone else has seen one, has one or knows who made it let me know!

And let us know what crafty goods you get for Christmas – we love to see what everyone gets and makes!

Happy Christmas!

I’ve no idea who made it or where it came from though! I’m hoping someone on here will tell me…

I received both the Colette book and the Burda book as Christmas gifts, and have been dipping into them both at intervals throughout the day (Here in Oz, it’s currently late night on Christmas Day). Will probably take a few days before I have enough time t have a serious read of both, but I am looking forward to it!

I got the BurdaStyle book a month or two ago and I bought the bundle from the http://www.colettepatterns.com when it was on sale with two patterns (I got the Jasmine and Nutmeg patterns) but now I”m trying to decide what to make first! Have you looked through the patterns? What are you thinking of doing first?

That is the perfect present for a sewing enthusiast! Something to truly enjoy 🙂

I purchased the Colette Sewing book and in the beginning of the next year 🙂 I’ll purchase the Burda. I am excited to try to sew from both.

    Merry Christmas Julia!

Ok, I thought this was going to be the best sewing related gift I ever got but someone may have beaten it! I’m going to take pictures and do a quick post tonight. Seriously now, this BLEW MY MIND.
