Tabatha’s April Challenge – Days 18 – 20

April 20, 2011

Monday 18th April

Today didn’t go according to plan at all!  Mr Tweedie and Little Tweedie left for their big day out at 9:30am, which is when I started working on finishing off my C&G coursework.  It didn’t take as long as I thought it would, and by 2pm I was all done.  Bonus!  This meant I could spend the afternoon sewing.  Around 4:15pm I suddenly got a bit paranoid about the hand-in meeting, so I rang up the college to check it was still on.  The receptionist informed me that the building was being closed at 4:30pm because it’s the Easter holidays, and that as far as she knew there were no classes tonight.  I rang Debbie (our course leader) to ask her what was going on, and she had no idea!  She was really annoyed that no one had told her about this, and obviously she had to try to contact everyone else to tell them that the meeting was cancelled at the last minute.  I was also really annoyed – I could have gone out for the day with Mr T and Little T after all!

On the upside, I did aLOTof sewing on my Parfait dress – probably around five hours – as the day trippers didn’t arrive home until around 11:30pm.  I made loads of mistakes and had to do lots of unpicking, but it wasn’t because the pattern was unclear or difficult to figure out, it was just because I was being a moron.

It looks as though it’s going to be a snug fit, but hopefully not too tight!

Tuesday 19th April

Not too much to report today after all the goings on of late.  Got an hour of sewing done during Little T’s nap and an hour when Mr T got home from work.  Am hoping to finish the dress tomorrow!

Wednesday 20th April

God, I am so stupid.  I’ve lost count of the number of mistakes I’ve made sewing this dress!  Luckily they were all fixable.  My sewing slot today was spent attaching pockets, buttons and button holes.  All I have left to do is insert the non-invisible zipper (I bought the wrong kind), sew the side seam and hem it.  I love the look of the dress, it’s such a beautiful design – thumbs up to Colette Patterns!
