Tabatha’s April Challenge

March 31, 2011

It’s 31st March, and tomorrow, I’m starting my April Challenge.  I decided that I wanted to spend a bit more time making clothes for myself, as the only dress I have made for myself since last summer is the Crepe dress, which I finished in January.  Recently I’ve found that the ready-to-wear clothes that I like are just too expensive, plus the ability to make something truly unique has always been important to me.

So, my April Challenge is to spend at least two hours every day in April sewing clothes for myself.  The only exception to this is when I am on holiday, from Saturday 8th April until Thursday 14th April.  To help make up for this, I will sew over the Easter weekend.

For me, this really is a challenge.  I am a stay-at-home Mum, so my sewing is usually done either when Little Tweedie can play independently, when she’s napping or when she has gone to bed – on a stay-at-home day.  But during April I have made quite a lot of plans: visiting friends, various appointments, activity groups with Little Tweedie etc., not to mention my looming City and Guilds deadline.  However, a challenge is not meant to be easy, so I’m going to do my best!

I’m going to be telling you all about how I get on with my challenge, so come back soon to see how I’m getting on!
